Hey gang.  Post carpal tunnel #1 and I have moved from typing with two fingers to getting them all involved but the hand does get a bit sore in the thenar area of the palm if I type too long.  This will be a really, really short trip to the Pickleverse.

2.    Dinking In The New Year Photos (Men's Bracket) - at the bottom of the blog you should see some of the local participants in the men's bracket from the tournament.

3.    Balls - On days we are running both gyms at The Centre please remember to leave pickleballs on the side you were last playing on.  Mysteriously balls on the main gym side tend to migrate back over to the turf side gym.  Thank you in advance for your consideration.

4.    Tip Of The Week - Submitted by SaraLee.  SaraLee is one of your newer but very dedicated players at various venues in the area.  SaraLee has played in a number of tournaments and the advice she offered when I canvassed for what folks learned from DITNY was to not to hesitate to use timeouts.  Whether to calm yourself down, try and break the momentum of your opponents if they are on a run, or just to catch your breath.  While we don't usually have timeouts in rec play you can find little moments here and there to reset yourself.  Whether it is a pre-serve ritual or a slow walk back to the baseline you can try and get yourself right.  Just don't overdo it, time is money you know.
