This has been one of those weekends where life requires you to be fluid and adaptable in body, mind, and spirit.  My daughter moved into her new apartment in Park Forest on Friday and Saturday - second floor of course.  Her previous apartment was furnished, this one wasn't.  So we had that going on.  If you know me, I am more the "five minutes early is ten minutes late" kind of guy.  My daughter is more of the "all things in their own time" vibe.  So we are ready to leave the house.  She is driving the car and I am driving the U-haul.  I send her ahead and start out from Pleasant Gap.  It seems all systems are finally firing well when I get off at the Toftrees exit and a car pulls up besides me and motions for me to roll down the window.  "Hey, do you know the back of your truck is open?"  My heart sank.  I pulled off to the side of the ramp and prepared myself for the worst.  Luckily I had tied just about everything down and the only thing missing was a desk drawer that had been on the floor.  Long story short, the drawer fell out in my neighborhood, survived the drop and was recovered by a neighbor.  Phew.  Building furniture with the kid was also interesting.  The important thing is we all survived.  My girls are going to the shore for a few days, I am riding the Great Allegheny Passage tomorrow and the weather will be great for a good part of the coming week for pickleball.  Since I am pretty toasted, this will be a mini-version of the Pickle Jar and I will get part 2 out by Monday.  Let's take a quick excursion into the Pickleverse.

1. Tyrone One Day Fun Day Tournament - as you may have heard, weather caused a postponement of the tournament till August 24 (afternoon).  Due to this change 2 of our 4 teams that were going to represent Bernel Briners and compete for the Central PA Pickleball Cup cannot make it.  A few attempts have been made to find replacements but it seems that is a popular date for weddings and travel.  If you and a partner are interested in substituting in for one of these teams let me know.  FYI - the players are to be intermediate or advanced beginner level players.  Thanks in advance.
