The Pickle Jar
October 13 - 17
Wow, morning low temps came on strong this past week but many players would not be denied. It looks like the temps may be a bit more cooperative after working through a couple days of possible showers. With the weather becoming more of an issue, next week I will do a little bit about options for indoor play. For now, let's take a short trip around the Pickleverse.
Dink For Pink (Johnstown) - Time is running out. Monday is the last day to register and there is a lot of room in all the brackets. To register go here: Dink For Pink Johnstown
Somerset Tournament - There will be a tournament in Somerset on November 8 and 9. For more information see the flyer on the Tournaments page or contact Lisa Miller at (814) 659-9229 or NURSELMILLER@YAHOO.COM.
State College YMCA - The Y is running a fundraising campaign to put lights in at their outdoor courts. If you would like to donate follow this link: Y Pickleball Page with Donation Link
Selkirk Paddles - If you are interested in Selkirk paddles, Donna Reese, brand ambassador, will be at Berner Road Park with an assortment of Selkirks to test drive. The date is October 17 at 9:00.
What Are You Interested In? - Looking forward to the indoor season I was wondering what, if any, special programming folks might be interested trying. One thing I discussed was a novice player meet and greet. We can look at DUPR days, ladder leagues, or if everyone is just happy with everything the way it is that is OK too. FYI - these would not replace the drop-in sessions so no need to work about that. If you have an idea, let me know.
Here are the links for indoor play. I hope to see you on the court someday soon.
