The Pickle Jar
September 15 - 19
So, how have things in the Picleverse been. It has been a crazy couple of weeks biking in central PA, western PA, Maryland, and D.C. I am happy to report that I have completed 300 of the pledged 500 miles. My routine has been ride 3 days and rest 1. I played a little pickleball this morning for the first time this month. It felt good to engage some different muscle groups. If I get some rides in this week I can slow down a bit and get more court time. Unless the ragweed takes me down. I think I set a personal record with 15 consecutive sneezes. If you are are interested in learning more about what I am riding for follow this link: What Has Randy Gotten Himself Into Now . Let's all pedal around the Pickleverse and see what happens.
1. Dink For Pink (State College YMCA) - registrations to play have closed but you can still get in on some action by bidding for some great auction items. From Scott O.: "There are 3 great pickleball auction items available for bidding at the YMCA plus 3 Penn State “priceless!” Items. Also over 50 incredible raffle basket items. YMCA members and non-members can buy raffle tickets and make bids on auction items up and through the Dink for Pink tournament Saturday Sept 20th." I have photos at the bottom of the blog.
2. Dink For Pink (Johnstown) - still time and space to register to play. A flier for the tournament is attached.
3. C3 Sports - With a degree of sadness I am sorry to report that Lance is no longer with C3 Sports. He will be working with his wife for the ministry she runs called Echoes of Madagascar. We wish him the best and thank him for the many years of friendship and advocacy for pickleball at C3 Sports. I plan to meet with the gentlemen that will govern C3 Sports in October when I get my riding done. At this time it is business as usual to the best of knowledge.
4. Bernel Road Park - with the cooler mornings that warm up quickly, clothing items are regularly being left behind based on the posts I see on TeamReach. Please be sure to take a moment to think how you were dressed when you got to the court. I know it's a lot to ask when we all have trouble remembering the score and who is serving.
Have a great week and stay safe. Peace.
